Brain Power: 8/27/10

Posted: August 27, 2010 in Uncategorized

The folks over at Life AsRx (one of my favorite CrossFit “gear” sites) posted this article on Facebook a few days ago, and I thought it was very interesting.

“Does Music Make You Exercise Harder?”

It’s an article that shares some study results about the impact of music on athletic performance and focus at a variety of intensity levels.  Personally, I love listening to loud and fast music when I work because I feel it helps me push harder.  I never thought about it potentially being that it’s helping to distract my brain from the pain and nerves and anxiety that I may be feeling.

It’s a pretty quick read, so check it out.

What are your personal thoughts?  I’d love to hear!

I think this article is very interesting! As someone who would like to work out more often, I’m very glad you posted this- maybe a new playlist could help motivate me to get back into a rhythm! Awesome stuff.
