So Jamie asked me today if I had ever done, or considered doing, a Farm Share type of program before. I told him that I had not participated in one yet, but am learning that more and more people I know are right now.

The purpose of this post is to get as much feedback as possible from all of you out there who have experience with this kind of stuff.

How did you find a farm?
What is a reasonable price to pay for food?
Good experiences v/s bad ones?

Basically, is it worth it?

Please share any information you have on the topic, as I’m sure a lot of people would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance.

I have for several years participated in farm shares. I now am fortunate enough to have such a big garden myself that I am actually considering a mini model of this out of my own yard. Basically a partnership with one or two other households. But this isn’t the space for that advertisement … Tom talk to me later if you are interested.

Yes they are worth it, yes you will have tons of veggies, and you know where it comes from, and if it is an organic farm you know what they (don’t) put on the crops. However one caveat.. they are so popular that many of the best farms have WAITING LISTS – get on one today!

Thanks so much for the info, Rachel! If you know other people who have done it as well, please share this link with them. I’m looking for as much feedback as I can get.

Try googling Colorado CSA ( Community supported agriculture)
