2012 CrossFit Games Open: WOD 12.1 (Tom Ashby – Attempt 1)

The workout (which I copied directly from the CrossFit Games Website) is this:

Workout 12.1

Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes of:
Burpees

This workout begins from the standing position. The Athlete will move from flat on the ground to touching an object with both hands that is 6 inches above their max reach. Score is total reps completed.

I came out swinging too hard for sure. When I retry this thing tomorrow, I will pace myself a little more out of the gate.

What did YOU guys think about it? What were some of your strategies? I’m very curious to hear.
