Posts Tagged ‘Beastmode’

I was thinking that I have been posting most (if not all?) of my “Beastmode of the Day” posts with videos of dudes being monsters.

Please don’t think it’s because I don’t think women are monsters! There are so many INCREDIBLE CrossFitting females here in Denver that I know personally, as well as women around the world that I get to hear about through the interwebs.

Here’s one of them.

Talayna Fortunato was featured on The CrossFit Games Facebook page, along with the caption, “Somewhere, a woman in a pink shirt is snatching more than you, and giggling about it.” That’s pretty awesome. What’s even more awesome, is that in the video, Talayna snatched 160lbs! I had to see what other accomplishments of hers were out there, and I came across this gem.

Talayna apparently did a FOUR ROUND workout complete with:
Barbell-Overhead PISTOLS
L-Rope Climbs
AND
Parallette Handstand Push-Ups

And she looks good doing ALL of them. One day I hope to be able to do at least ONE of these movements as well as her. So strong!

Enjoy, folks.

I kept trying to think of a clever little paragraph to write about this video, but I got nothin’….

This man is INCREDIBLE.

(Thanks to Keith Wittenstein, from CrossFit Virtuosity, for this link!)

In this video, Behdad Salimi completes a 214kg Snatch (and with it a World Record) at the 2011 World Weightlifting Championship.

I’m not even going to say anything else.

Ok, fine.. one more thing. THAT’S 470.8 POUNDS! WHAT?!

Rob Orlando, CrossFit celebrity and Owner of Hybrid Athletics, is strong. If you’ve ever seen him, or heard about him through CrossFit, then you already knew that.

Rob Orlando can flip 1,000 pound tires, jump 40″ box jumps right after that and then get upside on gymnastics rings and do Ring Handstand Push-Ups.

I know… some of these people are insane.

Well, the time has finally come where CrossFit is posting so many INCREDIBLE videos of athletes performing superhuman feats that I need to create a new category for just them!

I think that “Beastmode of the Day” is an awesome name for it, too! Thanks for your support.

Rich Froning Jr. won the 2011 CrossFit Games. That means, by OUR standards (as CrossFitters), he is the fittest man on the planet.

Doing things like this make it harder and harder for someone to refute that, I think.

He took one of my favorite CrossFit workouts of all-time, Grace (which is 30 Clean and Jerks for time at 95lbs for women/135lb for men), and upped the ante a little. Instead of the prescribed 135lbs, he decided to do Grace with 225lbs!!

Oh yeah… and he did it in 4:49. No big deal.
