I have never wrestled a day in my life. I can only imagine the discipline and intensity that goes into becoming a good wrestler based on my years of 5+ hours a day of swimming.
There comes a time, though, when you realize an athlete just “has what it takes” in their sport. One of the more recent times that I’ve seen that kind of complete dominance is when I watch Usain Bolt run, at any distance.
Well, now I’ve found that dominance once again, and it’s in a 5-year old wrestler. FIVE years old. I would put ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY on this kid taking me down and pinning me in 10 seconds or less. This is unreal stuff.
I have a question for the birthday boy, Ricky Frausto Jr. (who is also a trainer at CrossFit Omaha), and other wrestler friends… How does someone get this good at such a technical sport at that age?!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone!!
I wish I could say I had something to do with the execution of this video, but sadly, I do not.
Either way, be sure to celebrate in your own way today! (I hope you’re all wearing green at the very least)
From the outside, CrossFit seems like just a fitness program. Once you enter the community, you learn it’s much more than that.
It’s a way of life. It’s a community. It’s a family. At CrossFit Lakewood, I consider the athletes I have the honor of working with a part of my extended family, and I think many would say the same about one another.
The impact that CrossFit training has on an individual was taken to the next level in my book this morning, however. The guys at CrossFit Dallas Central shared an incredible video with the world, that almost hits me more every single time I use it. The relationships you can create or develop in the gym go far beyond pushing one another through a difficult lift or challenging workout.
This post is to share a story and video put together by Dean at CFDC on a marriage proposal done at their gym. While I’ve never met Noah or Kelli, I can say from the bottom of my heart, that I wish you two absolutely nothing but the best in your lives together. This moment is beyond awesome. Thanks so much for sharing this, Dean.

I love impressions. That is all.
The boys at Life AsRx found and shared another gem with the world.
In this video, Mark Monea lands the first-ever 360 degree front flip on a motorcycle. Yeah, you read that correctly. Wow.
I came across this video tonight, and instantly thought of the one and only Dru-Tang.
This video is for you, buddy. Enjoy.
Remember, I post a lot of these videos for a reason! Yes, they’re very cool to watch, but the primary reason is to show what CrossFit can help athletes accomplish. By using CrossFit to improve your OVERALL fitness, not just specializing in one area, you can become bigger, faster, stronger, more coordinated, increase your endurance and flexibility and more… at the same time.
Whether your goal is to be able to make the starting line of a sports team, to carry groceries into your house or apartment with greater ease, or just to work some activity into your day, this training helps. Most of you already know that, though 🙂
Oh, by the way… don’t try this stuff at home.
Many of us sit in our own worlds, thinking that we have little to no impact on those around us.
I am writing this post to let you all know that whether or not you choose to accept it, you are an inspiration to someone. Your actions have an impact on more people around you than you know or realize. Most importantly, you can lead by example in every aspect of your life, while constantly exceeding even your own expectations in the process.
Dare to be great. In everything you do. Set goals that you feel are just out of reach, put in the time and effort necessary to achieve them, and go for them. You are so much more capable than you think. I have faith in you. Why wouldn’t you have faith in yourself?
Is the Charlie Sheen stuff in the news just outrageous? Yes.
Are the American people focusing on a literally insane celebrity more than important world issues? Yes.
Should “we” probably spend more time trying to improve our own quality of life? Yes.
Did I already buy a Charlie Sheen CrossFit T-shirt? Yes.
Did the Schmoyoho folks crush another “songification” of a real-life situation? (Just like Double Rainbow and Bed Intruder)? Yes.
Watch if you want. If you don’t want to, don’t watch it.
Either way, you’re winning. It’s sort of a Bi-Winning situation we’ve got going on.
The world has seen many incredible leaders. Those who motivate, inspire and help people accomplish feats of greatness.
Ron Swanson is one of those leaders.
