Yesterday’s video that I posted was part 1 of a series. Today, you get part 2!
They come from a series of videos from the “Betty Wants In” Vimeo channel, and feature a lot of things I really like.

Extreme Sports. Slow Motion. Skydiving. (even though I’ve never jumped out of a perfectly good plane before)

It’s called “Experience Zero Gravity“, and like yesterday’s video, has some epic stuff.

Here’s a post from CrossFit Lisbeth. I lived this exact situation for…. the last 4.5 years of my life in regards to a pretty big part of my life. Talking, planning, “goal-ing” (that was for you, Rejalicious), asking, sharing, thinking….. but nothing changed.

I didn’t go to Business School, I didn’t walk away, I just talked. And complained. Inaction.

I know several friends who has been in the same boat for days, weeks, months, years in other areas of their lives, too. At a certain point it’s about doing one thing, though. And it’s something I say to myself more and more often as I “get older”.

SHUT UP AND DO IT.

The best part is, the more I say it to myself, and the more I’m doing it…. the better my life is getting. I “use my words” and speak my mind more often when I think something, and I feel better about situations. I actually train to try and get stronger instead of just saying “I wish I would get stronger”, and it’s working. I have accepted that certain people are the way they are, plain and simple, so instead of trying to change them (or worse, change myself on their behalf), I stress less about other people’s actions and live my own life. I mean, this stuff really works! 🙂

As Lisbeth says.. just ACT. Whether you share your goals/thoughts/ideas with others or not is entirely up to you. But when you feel a certain way about any given situation, realize that you have TWO choices on how to react to it. Accept it and move on. Or ACT and do something to try and change it.

It’s as simple as that.

Happy Tuesday!

Decide

~By Lisbeth

So, you don’t like something in your life. You’re complaining, you’re mad/sad/depressed/pissed off. You’ve got 2 choices:

1.) Take action

2.) Don’t take action.

It’s that simple. Choose one: Take action or don’t. Try to change it or don’t.

People talk about goals and charts and numbers and lists and plans. Maybe there is some ideal way to plan/structure/prioritize/accomplish everything. But for every piece of advice that tells you to do it this way, there’s another piece of advice that tells you to do it another way. Remember hearing that you should tell somebody your goals so they can hold you accountable? Well, there’s another psychology study that shows that telling somebody your goals makes your brain tick that goal off as accomplished, hence you should not tell anybody your goals. Hahahaha. Great. You gotta laugh or you’re going to cry.

But goals told or goals kept secret, so what. It still comes back to take action or don’t take action.

So, what are you going to do?

The crew at LifeAsRx always shares such cool videos! Yesterday’s video was no exception.
Check out Part 1 of this series of videos from the “Betty Wants In” Vimeo channel.

It’s called “Experience Human Flight“, and features some pretty incredible visuals.

I’m not going to divulge whether or not tomorrow will include Part 2 of this series…. but I suggest you check back just be sure!

Three days of Parkour in a row on this blog of mine. Guess what, we’re not going to make it four.

HOWEVER, since it’s already Winter Sports Season in Denver (I hit my first day on the slopes snowboarding last Saturday), I miss the sun and the heat already! Sure, I love the snow and winter sports, but every once and a while I wish I could just drive to the beach and get my sun on.

Having grown up going to Brasil every year to visit my family, SURFING has been a big part of my life, too. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been a fan of surfing LEGEND Kelly Slater for almost my entire, but it’s true. Check out the video below.

At almost 40 years old, he’s still dominating the wave and winning competitions. If you’ve ever surfed before, look at the stuff this guy does and enjoy it.
If you’ve NEVER surfed before, know that Kelly Slater is the truth.

Well, I’m glad there’s yet another fun story to go along with my adventures in CrossFit! By now, most of you know I’m competing in the Again Faster “Beat the Team” WOD Series. I’ve had some issues with video recording over the 4 weeks of the competition so far, and this week was no exception!

One week my computer couldn’t read the camera used to film the workout. Another week my GoPro’s memory was full. Another week my camera died mid-workout. THIS week’s adventure was the best one yet.

I completed the entire workout, grabbed my phone to stop the recording and for some reason the button wouldn’t stop recording…. at all. When I went to try and shut it off, I noticed that THE ENTIRE VIDEO WAS LOST. Awesome.

So then the next day I worked it out to use Rj’s reliable camera. Doing the same workout two days in a row is usually not the best thing ever, but I had to do it in order to stay “legit” in the competition. So the Wednesday night time for the workout was 4:38. Thursday, less than 20 hours later… 4:10!

I was convinced I was going to go slower, my arms felt heavier, excuse, excuse, excuse. When I looked at the clock after finishing the workout, I was really happy. Boom.

“Russell”

3 Rounds for Time:

I’ve had two straight days of Parkour/Free-Running on my blog. Are you sick of it yet? I hope not, because I’m not sick of it yet!

I have featured Damien Walters on my blog before, and he is hands down one of my favorite traceurs (or practitioners of Parkour) out there. His stuff takes the game to a new level.

Happy Friday, everyone!

I still hear friends say that CrossFit is just a fad, and that the fitness program won’t go anywhere.

I am going to respectfully disagree. Again.

Now, “we” were featured on the TV show “The Doctors” with my favorite TV Trainer of all time… Bob Harper!

Look at him run his former The Biggest Loser Co-Trainer, Jillian Michaels, through a quick 2-minute WOD. For someone who is known to be “in amazing shape”, Jillian sure seems to struggle through some of the movements. Yet another reminder that a person is never in too bad OR too GOOD of shape to start!

As long as the coaching is effective, CrossFit can truly benefit anyone! Boom.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get the embedding on the FULL video to work, but I was able to at least find a video of Bob’s intro and his explanation of the workout. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE click here and actually watch the entire video so you can see them work out. Pretty good stuff!

I posted another Moment of Awesomeness post yesterday where I featured a video by Alex Yde. In the post I wrote that it was “another” awesome video by him.

The more I thought about that quote, I realized… few people who read my blog have probably ever even heard of Alex, let alone seen his other videos. So today, I’m going to share one more with you!

This video showed me two things:

1- There are SO MANY (mostly unknown) absolutely incredible Parkour/Free Running athletes out there! It makes me want to work some more gymnastics-type training into my programming!

2- Apparently there ARE redheads in France. Crazy.

In preparation for the MBS CrossFit Turkey Challenge Competition this weekend, I wanted to show all of the CrossFit Lakewood Competitors where I expect your handstand walking to be by now! 🙂

Absolutely amazing dancing by Arthur Cadre, and Alex Yde creates another great video. The song is Sail by AWOLNATION!

Thanks to my friends at CrossFit Eminence for posting this AWESOME video today.

Happy Wednesday!

I know I have told several of you in person that the review for the three sets of jump ropes would be done soon, and it will!

I think tonight I am going to stay late at the gym after I’m done coaching and record the video for you guys.  Hopefully you’ll find my  feedback helpful, and you can all end up ordering your ropes together.  If we order enough of them together we may even get a discount!

Stay tuned for the post later tonight, and as always, I’d LOVE your feedback as to how you like the post when it’s done.  I’m doing it to try and help you guys out, and want to make sure I’m reaching that goal!

Double-Unders…. here we come!!!
